Description: Original Span-Am War Era US Army Cavalry Officer's Model 1881 Sun or Pith Helmet with Horse Hair Plume - NICE Condition - RARE Up for sale is an Original Span-Am War Era US Army Cavalry Officer's M1881 Sun or Pith Helmet. The M1881 helmet has the dark felt outer covering, with a Army Eagle Cavalry Plate and Cavalry side buttons. It has the Cavalry Yellow Horse Hair Plume assembly and the Cavalry Yellow Braided Cords. Some wear on the outer felt covering, see photos. No dents in the fiber shell. The interior no longer has leather sweat band. There are no manufacturer markings. It has no size tag.
