BIG badge, measures about 57 mm top to bottom (almost 2 ¼”). Quality made :in brass and enamels, 3-piece construction (the USSR state emblem is superimposed on the white border post, which is superimposed on the shield-shaped badge showing oak wreath and mountains.) This is an original item made in Russia in the early 90s, immediately after the collapse of the Soviet Union and while the old Soviet traditions were still alive: note the sword and shield which are traditional emblem of KGB, the state emblem which is still Soviet, not Russian, and the Communist red star near the top.
