Description: Offered is the SONY TFM-96 AM/FM Transistor Radio. The radio is a 9-Transistor type from 1963. The radio is clean and in good condition with some wear, but no heavy scratches or gouges. The speaker grill is pushed in a little, but it is not too severe, it too is clean with a nice clean SONY logo. The telescoping antenna is in good condition. The controls and switches work properly. Front printed graphics are all in good condition with none worn off. The radio plays on AM and FM with good volume. The grey plastic case has very little grime, but no heavy dirt or crud. Features include: On/Off Volume and Tone controls as well as an earphone and tape inputs and an external antenna jack on the left side, big radio dial and FM Distant/FM Local switch on the front and Tuning and FM/AM switch on the right side. The dial has the Civil Defense markings. The battery compartment on the back is clean within, the door is in good condition, it latches and unlatches properly. The radio is offered with its original leather case. The case is in fair condition-it is torn at the top left and right edge, but not all the way across, it has some wear and the inside covering is loose at the right most edge only. The carrying strap is broken off and missing. These models are seldom seen in this nice condition. Almost 3 pounds packed up. Pick up the radio for your own collection.
