Sonor Ascent Drum Set Kit w/ custom Gibraltar Rack

Description: Sonor Ascent series drum – beech shell drum set with custom Gibraltar Rack – 20 x 16 BD, 10 x 8 TT, 12 x 8 TT, 16 x 16 FT. Cream White Lacquer finish with black chrome hardware. Tuxedo look patterned on one of Steve Smith’s Journey kits. The finish is in terrific shape with a very minor odd scuff here and there, but nothing significant that penetrates the finish – this kit is remarkably clean for being 12 years old. Each shell, lug and rim was hand polished, and each lug and tension rod received a touch of lithium grease for smooth operation. The original BD claws and hoops were pretty banged up when I bought the kit, so I installed brand new maple black lacquer hoops that compliment the kit and new black chrome die cast claws with rubber padding to protect the hoop finish along with a bass drum hoop protector. I also installed a new Sonor logo head, felt strip and kickport. The toms have coated Remo emperor batters with little use, and clear ambassador resonant heads – the BD has an Evans EMAD. Also included is a custom spec’d Gibraltar rack also in fantastic shape that fits the kit perfectly. It includes all clamps, 3 cymbal arms and 2 Sonor hanging tom arms. CYMBALS NOT INCLUDED. This is a terrific gigging “pocket” kit. It mic’s up tremendously well, easy to tune with the famous undersized Sonor shells, and has that beautiful beech shell tone that Sonor is famous for! IMO this was the very best of the Sonor overseas offering that was offered for only a short time. A new beech shell Vintage series or SQ2 kit in these sizes will run you almost triple the cost. Get yourself a beech shell Sonor kit with a rack built to fit for a fraction of the price. Add a snare and hi-hat and this kit is gig ready! The official Sonor specs are below.
