The Q3 Template is designed for #24300 (Solid Brass Large-Box Quadrant Hinge 1-5/8''W x 1-5/8''H x 9/32'') while the Q4 Template is designed for use with #21962 (Solid Brass Small-Box Quadrant Hinge 1-1/4''W x 1-1/4''H x 7/32''). Both of the templates are designed to work with the JIG IT Hinge Mortising System. Simply place the template into the system and clamp it where you'd like it to sit. When you are done just lift the template out of the system. Not only does this speed up the process by eliminating the need to mark and measure, but it can be reused with a variety of mortising templates.
