Description: You are bidding on an Original Gelatin silver photo by Soichi Sunami for the Museum of Modern Art. The photograph measures approximately 9 inches by 6.375 inches and is placed under glass in a contemporary case for protection. This silver print has an interesting history apart from it’s world renowned subject matter. In 1930, Abby Rockefeller, wife of John D. Rockefeller asked Soichi Sunami to become the Archival Photographer for the New York Museum of Modern Art. In 1936, MoMA published “ Cubism and Modern Art “ which I presume accompanied the art expo which took place at MoMA from March 2 to April 19, 1936. The photograph of Picasso’s “ Head of a Young Women “ appears on page 88 of the book and denoted as catalogue number “228 “ . The last picture of the listing shows page 88 of the book which can be found at asset.MoMA.org. The back of the photograph is marked with subject matter along with the page location and the catalogue number as found in the book. It is also stamped with a credit reference to Sunami and MoMA. The photograph appears to be original archival material from MoMA. The photo is attached in four small spots on a piece of paper but can easily be removed. The photo itself is in good condition with no relevant damage. Wonderful piece of history. Please look at photos and email me with questions. Professional shipping guarantees swift and safe delivery to your door. Good luck.
