Author Biography Derek Chad Evans was born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania where he currently resides to this day. Derek was born Easter Sunday March 31, 1991 to Lisa Morganti and Chad Evans. Growing up, as early as five years old, when he first started playing youth soccer, Derek found his love for sports. He often dreamed of playing professionally. He always loved helping others and has volunteered and hosted many charity events. At seventeen-years-old he was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome which meant his dreams of professional sports would no longer be a possibility. Derek graduated high school from Exeter Township in 2009. During his senior year, he won the Most Outstanding Student in Business Award. He later attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He graduated in 2014 with a Major in Sports Administration and a minor in Business Management. He worked at the Hertz Corporation in his home town coming out of college, where he worked his way up to Assistant Manager. Derek had to resign from Hertz due to a recent setback in his POTS in early October 2016. This was one of the biggest factors in encouraging him to write this book.
