Description: Elegant butter-yellow teapot designed by the legendary Nils Thorsson for Aluminia. Thorsson designed at Royal Copenhagen for many decades, creating several distinctive lines of pottery, including Marselis and Baca. His distinctive work is known for his smart color choices and patterns derived from nature. Though it's Danish, this teapot has a Japanese feel to it, with its incised lines along the sides resembling very organized reeds. The handle, spout, and top are all in great shape and feel wonderful in the hand. Crazing and minor marks, all appropriate to its 60+ age. No cracks or chips, even to the ever-vulnerable spout/snout. Very clean. Size: Approx. 8 inches in length (20.3 cm), 5 inches tall and 5 inches wide (12.7 cm). Note that this is a smaller teapot than the larger Marselis teapots I've listed. It has more of a 1 - 2 person capacity vs. the 4-person capacity of the larger teapots that I'm (reluctantly) selling. I'm clearing out some of my favorite pottery pieces, including other Thorsson teapots, as shown in the final photo (this one is the smaller of the two yellow teapots). Please take a look at my other listings if you're interested in beautiful vintage design for the home—and everyday elegance.
