The small apple is one of the standard designs in punches and is often overlooked for the pretty flowers that can be made from it. Most often it is used in themed projects such as school, teacher, ABC's, fruit baskets, or pages/projects for Baby themes. This punch is by the Punch Bunch company and is a regular plunger style punch that is open on the underside so you can see where you are punching. The punched out shape measures 1/2 inch tall and 1/2 inch across. The apple punch comes in several other sizes also. I carry over 350 styles, sizes, and shapes of punches in the store. Small punches are commonly sized at or near ½ inch, either length or height. Small punches are often used alone or are used to build larger flowers. They also are often used as centers for medium and large punch shapes. If you do scrapbooking, quilling, punchart, or card crafting, small punches will add a lot to your art projects. The small punches are most versatile as they can be used on their own to create flowers or designs or can be used in conjunction with other shapes or just as flower centers. The punched shapes can be used flat to create designs for scrapbooking or can be molded slightly with a stylus to create realistic looking flowers for cards or to add as filler flowers to quilling. When molding the small shapes it is best to use the medium point stylus or the white molding tool, such as the one I sell in my store. The small punches can also be used to create interesting borders when punched along the edges of cards. All the punches I sell are brand new; however I do open them and punch one or two shapes to make sure they work properly.
