Description: This very charming and unique box is an oval shaped, primitive handmade Scandinavian bentwood box (svepask), with lapped edges stitched together (perhaps with birch root). Small iron nails attach the base of the box to the sides and also the top of the lid to the lid’s side. Small boxes such as this would have been used to store or carry small items or food. This is a handmade piece with natural wear and colorations for its age.
