Description: This is an 1890’s era Leather Photo Album with Latch and gold gilt edges. It contains 9 Photos and 2 Carte de visite. The leather binding has cracked along the edges of the spine, but the binding itself is intact. The paper picture frames inside are fragile and some have torn. It has 18 pages and can hold 32 pictures. The first picture is marked ‘xmas 1898’ with names written in pencil. There are some pictures of children and babies as well as some landscapes that seem to be from York in England. One carte de visite is of a dour looking woman with a large Victorian style brooch. It was made by W. Emmett Victoria Gallery Staley Bridge. The back has beautiful Victorian style advertising. The second carte de visite is of a young woman and a baby. The young woman appears to be a boy, but is wearing a black dress with a heavy chain on one side. It was made by E. Brook Blackpool and Accrington. It also has nice advertising on the back.
