SLEEPING BEAUTY Disney ORIGINAL DRAWING Flora Fauna Merryweather Signed Johnston

Description: Up for sale is extremely rare set of Disney artwork. True Disney fans are aware that in the 1970s, the Disney corporation had brought some of its famed animators and directors to draw sketches at Disneyland. In 1982, when Epcot opened in Florida, the Disney company brought animators to do sketches at their counterpart as well. This four piece set of drawing sketches of the sleeping beauty characters: sleeping beauty, Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather are all done in wonderful colored pencil on drafting paper and signed by “J” which I could easily presume would be Ollie Johnston, famed animator for sleeping beauty, and one of Disney’s nine old men - who was busy in 1982 promoting the film “The Fox and the Hound” the legendary film that Johnston just happened to be supervising animator. I have no proof that this set of drawings was done by him, but I strongly believe it as I was a previous owner of an exact John Lounsbery hand drawn sketch from Disneyland in 1978 (embossed as well) while promoting a Winnie the Pooh film that he directed. Both my Lounsbery and this series of sleeping beauty sketches are all embossed with the official Epcot logo - please see picture for authenticity. Each of these hand drawn prints were professionally framed at a Michael’s craft store many years later, with the correct color matting to match the accent-colored pencils done with each sketch. If you are wondering why the pictures I took for this auction listing were close up and cropped, and cut off… It’s because I don’t like to publish high resolution photos of original artwork for fear of someone trying to copy and mass produce the art. I am faithful and loyal to the original artist , and I refuse to take high-end photographs of the art for fraudsters!! But I assure you, you will love these drawings!
