Vintage / antique skeleton key from the infamous Monson, MA Mental Asylum. These unique and well preserved keys once secured the doors to countless lunatics, some quite dangerous. The tales from Monson are like those from a horror story. These keys date from the earliest period of the hospital, established in 1852. (Closed in the 1950's). It should be noted that many advancements have been made since the early days of mental health care and this key is a historical reminder of that fact. The derelict and somewhat spooky hospital is now a popular ghost hunters and paranormal location. These keys are a unique conversation piece. I only have a limited number of these keys. I am keeping some keys for my collection and selling a handful to pay for the original purchase and for charity. As my inventory runs low, prices will increase. Condition: (Read before bidding or buying): Used antique or vintage condition and unless otherwise noted. Key length sizes are sometimes rounded off to the nearest 1/16 to 1/8 inches. Keys are generally not cleaned to maintain antique nature.
