Description: [POSTAL HISTORY] Sir Henry Holland 1st Baronet, FRS (1788-1873) British physician and travel writer. He had an extensive practice and was Domestic Physician to Caroline, Princess of Wales (briefly in 1814) and Physician Extraordinary to William IV and to Queen Victoria. He was also Physician in Ordinary to Queen Victoria in 1852. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in January, 1815 and served on the council three times. He was created a Baronet in 1853. Hand addressed envelope, 4-3/4 x 2-5/8 in., 1869, addressed to Jacob Bigelow (1787-1879) American physician and botanist. He was architect of Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
