Description: A Lovely Quality Silver Plated and glass Mid Victorian Vanity Bottle or Potpourri Jar. This is a genuine antique item made about 175 years ago. Part of a lovely silver plated dressing set which would have been housed in a luxury wooden case and used daily by the lady of the house. Lovely quality original silver plated lid with a plain central cartouche which has not previously been engraved and a floral pattern. Small original holes in the lid to avoid condensation means this would also make a lovely pen or desk tidy. There will be light scuffs and marks to both the lid and glass from use but no dents. There are tiny flea bites to the glass and one small chip on an end edge that I can see. There are small black marks on all four corners due to the style of soldering used to apply the edge to the box to the lid. Please see images. 17.5 cm long by 3.5 cm high by 4 cm wide. REF: CSC 1473B
