Description: SIGNED Lost Moon - The Perilous Voyage of Apollo 13 by Jim Lovell (NASA astronaut) 2nd printing 1994. This book would make a unique and thoughtful gift to a special someone with an interest in space exploration or astronauts. Apollo 13 was the Lunar mission with an oxygen tank failure on the way to the moon, and they miraculously slung the capsule around the moon and back to earth, saving the crew. This book is the basis for the 1995 movie Apollo 13 directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise, Ed Harris and Kathleen Quinlan. Jim Lovell flew in space for Gemini 7, Gemini 12, Apollo 8, and Apollo 13. Lovell is the oldest living former astronaut. Legendary! Book is in Very Good condition with little wear but some nibbling on top and bottom edges of cover and a few small spots on the text block (see pictures). Book appears unread. Otherwise, covers and pages are square, clean, bright, and unmarked except for Jim Lovell's inscription and signature on the title page. Binding is tight. No tears in dust jacket but a large patch of the inside surface of the dust jacket has been nibbled away by silverfish, but they stopped at back of the plastic of the cover, so it is not noticeable from the outside of the dust jacket (see pictures). Please see pictures as they are considered part of the condition description. I take numerous photos of the actual item and describe it as accurately as I can so you don't have to risk your buying decision on stock photos and generic condition descriptions. A portion of this sale goes to a food bank in honor of my father-in-law who ran a food bank. Many people experience hunger on a regular basis and they rely on food banks. Thank you for supporting them with your purchase. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED: If you are unhappy with any aspect of this transaction, please contact me immediately. I will work hard to keep buyers happy and to resolve the rare problem promptly. QUALITY PACKAGING: I care about your purchase! I package books and DVDs protected in plastic sleeves for water protection and wrapped carefully for safe and secure shipping. There are cheaper, easier, and faster ways to package items for shipping but the risk of damage during shipment is not worth it for you or me. I’m proud of the positive feedback I have received related to packaging. USPS MEDIA MAIL: I ship books and DVDs by USPS media mail. Media mail is generally reasonably fast, but can rarely take up to 8 days, so please be patient. Shipping outside of the U.S. is handled by the eBay Global Shipping program. I ship to the eBay international shipping clearing house in Kentucky and eBay takes it from there. eBay adds on the extra cost for international shipping and I have no control over that cost or how long it takes. eBay should give you a shipping estimate/total on the listing page for your particular order. POSITIVE FEEDBACK: If you believe you would be happy to purchase something from me again in the future, please consider leaving me positive feedback for this purchase as it really helps small eBay sellers like me. I leave feedback for buyers once they have posted feedback for me. Let's do this together! Enjoy!
