Description: The Actual Book You Will Receive Is Pictured. Bookmark my Store so you don't miss out on my Art & Photography items going up all the time! "The best painter alive..." Cecily Brown. Up for your consideration is a boldly signed first edition/ first printing copy of Gerhard Richter: Editions 1965-2013 Catalogue Raisonne with text in English, ISBN: 3775735193. It was published by Hatje Cantz in 2014. This is the essential reference to the prints and graphic work of one of the most renowned artists of our time, who was born in 1932, and just celebrated his 89th birthday. It's a book no collector of Gerhard Richter's prints should be without. 340 fully illustrated pages, and weighing close to 4 pounds. This copy is protected by a study archival mylar book jacket (see Pic 9). This copy is unmarked besides Mr. Richter's bold and beautiful signature in pencil on the title page, to which he has appended the date- "4.4.2014," the year of publication. I note some slight wear to the boards, perhaps from rubbing in the dust jacket, and a scratch to the back of the dust jacket near the middle of the right rear side (see Pic 10). The binding is tight, and there is no yellowing to the pages. A collectable copy of this out of print book. From the publisher-"Gerhard Richter’s editions are attracting increasing interest around the world. Editions are all of the artist’s original works of art that have been produced in multiple. In his new catalogue raisonné Hubertus Butin presents all of the prints, photography editions, artist’s books, multiples (objects), and painting editions from 1965 to 2013. Informative essays and numerous illustrations demonstrate how the editions are an independent, major part of Richter’s oeuvre, offering the artist an opportunity to reach a larger audience while simultaneously exploring creative possibilities in diverse and experimental ways.Gerhard Richter (born 1932) fled from East to West Germany in 1961 and studied in Düsseldorf. After guest professorships at various institutions, he became a professor at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in 1971. Richter has been represented at important exhibitions, from the Documentas V to X to the 1972 Venice Biennial, and he is also the recipient of many prominent awards. To celebrate his seventieth birthday in 2002, The Museum of Modern Art, New York devoted a retrospective to his work. Richter lives in Cologne."
