Description: In 2006, the Country Music Hall of Fame honored some of country music's most famous session players and sidemen. The steel guitar player, Don Helms' tribute, took place in the Ford Theater there.Don was the last surviving member of Hank Williams Sr's band, The Drifting Cowboys. His steel guitar playing is probably the most recognizable sound in all of country music. He played in Hank's band, but also on over 100 Hank Williams recorded tracks, as well as tracks for Patsy Cline,Charlie Pride, Ernest Tubb, Loretta Lynn, Stonewall Jackson, and many more. Sadly, Don passed away in 2008. I attended this event and personally obtained his autograph on this poster. If you would like me to include a COA to that effect, just let me know and I'll do that. The Ford Theater only seats about 285 guests, so there will be very few of these out there that are signed by Don. This blue and white poster, made from hand-carved wood blocks and hand cranked on a press at Hatch Show Print in Nashville, measures approximately 22 inches by 14.5 inches. It will be mailed in a tube.
