Democracy, directed by Blakemore, premiered on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on that date, and Lee Wilkof played the role of Gunther Nollau in the production. The show was nominated for the Tony Award and Drama Desk Award as Best Play. The book is in very good condition in a very good unclipped dustjacket, with black boards, yellow spine titles and pale gray endpapers.
