Description: GEBURT, TOD und TRANSZENDENZ: Neue Dimensionen in der Psychologie by Stanislav Grof From 1985, the German edition of Grof's important work, Beyond the Brain: Birth, Death, and Transcendence in Psychotherapy. This copy is signed and inscribed by the author on the second page, dated in the year of publication. Extremely rare thus. Czech-born Stanislav Grof, now in his nineties, is a principal developer of the Transpersonal Psychology movement. His wide-ranging career has most notably featured pioneering investigation into treatment through psychedelic drugs, LSD in particular. The book was signed in Big Sur, California, presumably at the Esalen Institute, where Grof worked for many years. Grof has authored or contributed to numerous books, but he has signed almost none of them. A very few copies that have been inscribed to friends and colleagues seldom appear on the market. This first printing copy of Geburt, Tod und Transzendez is in excellent shape. The jacket, in mylar since it was new, shows minimal handling; the spine is somewhat faded. The book itself has a little shelfwear, and the text is mildly toned with age, otherwise no flaws. Measures 6" X 8.5", 445 pages. Ships promptly & securely.
