The base of the shell deflector mounts to the slide block on the rear site leaf with two set screws. Utilizing the hinging assembly of the rear sight leaf allows the deflector to move out of the way. The aluminum base is black anodized and the deflector plate is made from steel and black oxide coated for durability.
