Description: Shakespeare, William. Shakespeare's Poems: A Facsimile of the Earliest Editions. Edited by James M. Osborn, Louis L. Martz, and Eugene M. Waith. New Haven: Yale University Press for The Elizabethan Club of Yale University, 1964. Offered for a sale is a copy, in an unclipped (albeit lightly worn and torn) dust jacket, of Shakespeare's non-dramatic poems, in photographic facsimile--in good or very good condition. This edition was printed for the Elizabethan Club of Yale University in commemoration of the four-hundredth anniversary of the poet's birth. So far as I know, this is the only edition reproducing all Shakespeare's non-dramatic verse in facsimile, and mine is, as of this writing, the only copy from this edition listed for sale. The volume comprises facsimiles of Lucrece, The Passionate Pilgrim, The Phoenix and the Turtle, and the Sonnets. The endpapers are a bit toned--the traces of (what may be) a price tag remain, as does the label of the great (and still extant) Tokyo bookseller Kitazawa, where, presumably this copy was first sold. The interior is free of underscores, annotations, &c. The binding is very sturdy. The book ships in a mylar jacket protector. I provide *FREE* domestic shipping by USPS Priority Mail. Buyers abroad will be served by eBay's International Shipping Program.
