Description: For your consideration is a clock that would sit on a mantle, shelf or piece of furniture. This clock was manufactured by the Seth Thomas Clock Company of Thomaston, Connecticut, U.S.A. It has Adamantine finish. Adamantine is a celluloid veneer, glued to a wooden case. Celluloid is a predecessor of plastic. I assume it was manufactured in the 1920s. It is 12" wide, has a maximum height of 10" and is 5 1/2" from front to back. This Seth Thomas mantle clock is an old item, that was used. It needs cleaned and will only run for a short amount of time. I assume that if it were cleaned, it would run good. The key that came with it will wind the time and striking mechanisms, but will not fit the FAST/SLOW peg. Also the key has been welded. The Adamantine veneer has some chips. The device that holds the striking coil is loose and moves, causing the striking hammer to miss the coil; it needs to be put in place and tightened. The key and the pendulum will be placed in a padded envelope and the padded envelope is the top thing, in the inside box. Please, carefully examine the pictures, as the pictures are part of the description. Local pickup is encouraged and is free. For bookkeeping purposes, this is lot DGW-1095.
