Description: Vintage set of 8 Imperial German Army Toy Cavalry (Uhlan) Soldiers made of tin. These were made by the German toy maker 'Ernst Heinrichsen' of Munich; they were known for various tin toy sets of various genres. This set retains almost all of its original paint and color, with nominal wear. This set comes in its original box, with slight damage and wear to the box. What makes this set rare is that all the lances are intact -typically these are borken off from children playing with them. These are 100% original, and in fantastic shape! These cavalry troopers were known as 'Uhlans' -they were a type of light cavalry, primarily armed with a lance. While first appearing in the cavalry of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Uhlans were quickly adopted by the mounted forces of other countries, including France, Russia, Prussia, Saxony, and Austria-Hungary.
