Description: Set of 8 John Ridgway 6/5181 Floral Swags Green Gold Pierced 8 7/8 Inch Plates Set of 8 antique mid 19th century Victorian era British bone china pierced plates. Decorated with a gold medallion in the center with hand colored pink, white, orange, yellow, and purple floral swags. Has a green border with gold scrollwork. Gold gilding along the edge. Unmarked except for the pattern number 6/5181 on the base in red. Produced by John Ridgway & Co between 1850 and 1856. Some of the plates have crazing typical of bone china, wear to the gilding, some small scratches to the green, and one plate has a bruise to the edge with an associated loss on the front. Measures approximately 8 7/8 inches wide. These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
