A unique recipe for each type of porcelain was developed by the scientist Dmitry Vinogradov back in the 18th century for the Elizabethan Porcelain Manufactory (now the Imperial Porcelain Factory). Each item is painted and decorated manually, using the overglaze technique. This is famous Russian Lomonosov Cobalt Net pattern, also known as the Catherine the Great pattern. These beautiful pieces are decorated with the Cobalt Net design that originated in Russian two centuries ago when it was first made for the Czar's Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. The decoration of Cobalt Net , inspired by the service from Elizabeth's period, fitted harmoniously into the delicate tulip shape and produced a wonderfully noble, classically beautiful whole.
