Description: This is a set of three paper-mache painted wooden elephants, in wonderful condition, most likely made in Kashmir, India. The tallest elephant measures 4 1/4" tall and is 4 1/4" long, the middle is 3 1/8" tall x 4" long, and the smallest is 2 1/4" tall x 3" long. The base is a lovely red color, and the level of the detailed painting is what caught my eye with this set, it truly sets them apart. I see what I believe to be a natural split in the front right leg of the largest elephant, but I think it may have been there from the time of its making as part of the natural wood piece; it does not feel rough at all and the paint appears to have been done over it.
