Description: These vintage dishes belonged to my grandparents. When my wife moved in during the pandemic we discovered that we unfortunately have too many belongings between us to fit in our small space, so we are sharing them with others who will appreciate the lovely things our respective families collected over the years. Bonwit Teller used to be one of the most high end department stores in New York City, more prestigious in its day than even Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus or Bergdorf Goodman: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonwit_Teller These plates were bought as new by my grandparents at Bonwit Teller in the 1960s or possibly 1970s. They owned many china patterns, however neither my mom nor myself recall this one ever being used. These plates have been wrapped up in storage for the past 40 years. The cardboard separating the plates even appears to be the original cardboard they would have been packaged in. THIS LOT CONTAINS A SET OF 12 DINNER PLATES, 9" DIAMETER These plates are guaranteed authentic Bonwit Teller merchandise -- although the stamp on the reverse of this 9" plate size does not specifically state Bonwit Teller, they clearly are the same pattern and came from the same set of Bonwit Teller service that I am selling in two other listings, which do specifically have Bonwit Teller markings.
