Description: This is a large 11”W x 4 3/4”H and heavy 3# yet delicately scalloped white mixing/serving bowl that is semi-porcelain. Produced by Smith-Phillips Semi-Porcelain co. East Liverpool, Ohio. The company was in business under that name from 1900-1929 until they merged with several other companies to form American China Corporation. The bowl is in very good condition considering it’s age & the manufacturing practices at that time. Inside the bottom of the bowl are 3 potters marks. There are also very light utensil marks from normal use, I tried to get a picture of the light utensil marks but they didn’t show up well as they are so light the potters marks, however, show up clearly (Please see last picture). On the outside there is a line, it doesn’t seem to be a crack as there is nothing on the inside to match it, it also is not a crazing line, it appears to be some sort of production flaw. The last pictures show the line from the outside & the area of the bowl transversely from it which looks fine. The bowl is 95-124 years old & ready for the next century as well. Thanks for looking !!
