Description: An awesome camera if you want to go back to the basics. Fully mechanical. I have a fondness for the Signet 40 especially after using one. Very light weight construction makes it a joy to carry. Rangefinders on these are accurate down to 2 feet. I've cleaned the rangefinder and serviced the shutter to make sure everything is in working order. Shows some but minimal wear for it's age. The last two photos in this listing are images taken with one of these with the Ektanon lens. The first sample photo is a closeup at about 2 feet and the second was a foggy morning. I've always been impressed with the lens quality of these cameras. Sharp. The lens on this camera was designed for Slide Film and will give nice color rendition and also works well with Black & White film. Note: The leather case is in fair condition but since it is old the stitching is fragile so when removing the case, take care not to tear the threads. I've run a bead of liquid "Fray Check" over the threads which helps strengthen the threads but is not a cure. No tugging! The leather is somewhat dry and the top half is very fragile. I usually have a few of these listed with different pricing along with other cameras so look at my other listings when you get a chance. If you've never used one of these make sure and find an owners manual pdf file online and study it. These have a particular way of advancing the film and cocking the shutter. Once you get used to it I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do. One thing I can point out is that when you advance the film you have to advance the lever about 3 times, it will come to a stop when you've advanced the proper amount.
