Description: One of South America’s finest modern printmakers, Sergio Gonzalez Tornero’s work is a fusion of two distinct entities: panache for modernist form of abstraction and a passion for the historic cultures of the Pacific Northwest. The imagery in Tornero’s work balances both the joyful and bizarre; its texture, tonal values and masterful use of color relationships come together to create these fantastical works of art. One of the signature elements of Tornero’s artwork is his use of red and other bold colors, giving the work an enhanced energy and life force that could not be achieved with traditional black and white shading.
