Description: With three sub brands (Seiko 5, Sports and Speed-Timer), this distinctive chronograph from 1971 is very rare. It features a very distinctive colour scheme on the dial. All functions operate perfectly. Overall, this watch presents beautifully. The glass is new hardlex. The dial is original shows some ageing on the lume index markers and the sub dial. The hands are original and shows a little ageing of the lume. The case is in great condition with only light patina and light signs of wear. Has been lightly re-finished. The bracelet is new, quality Duraflex brand and will fit up to approx. 21cm wrist. The 6139 movement was the first and most successful automatic chronograph. It has been professionally overhauled/serviced and is guaranteed. All functions operate perfectly, elaborated below. So I have started adding a photo of the movement, disassembled ready to go through the cleaning machine. All old dried up lubricants and anything else that shouldn't be there is cleaned away. Then, it is reassembled, lubricated, adjustments made and regulated. Seals are also replaced as needed.About vintage mechanical watches:A vintage mechanical watch will not perform like a modern quartz (electronic) watch. It is not ideal as a daily wearer. It should be treated for what it is, something old, classical and special. Treat it as you would a vintage car - not ideal to use as a “daily driver”. Keep it in the condition at which you bought it and it will hold or, indeed, increase its value. Use it every day and it will go backwards. About Me: I am a born again watchmaker! I finished my apprenticeship in 1973 having completed technical training at the RMIT, Melbourne. In the early 80s I went into retail (jewellery and watches).
