Description: Seguso Vetri d'Arte Murano Sommerso Pedestal Compote Dish 1960sThis is a beautiful Murano pedestal dish, according to the Murano glass group I sent pictures to, this is most probably manufactured by Seguso Vetri d'Arte 1960's. Here is what a group expert said "The olive green/grey is reminiscent of SVdA and Cenedese pieces made in the 1960's.Mario Pinzoni used it alot when he took over from Poli. Cenedese has used similar in sommerso etcThe watermelon/pink glass reminds of colours used by Cenedese (especially in Scavo pieces). It looks a bit pink for SVdA but it could have a translucent opalina covering that would change the violet/ruby colour they use." I call it my watermelon compote, the color is the prettiest raspberry red and green, all one piece. Wouldn't you say this is perfect for Christmas! Watermelon Colors too!! Measures 7-1/4" tall x 5-1/4" across. Weighs 2 pounds 9 ounces. Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. there is some scratches on the super highly polished bottom as shown in the photo.
