There are at least 7 authored by Dr. Cleveland. Most are American, plus a few international journals, and a few foreign-language journals. They span more than 5 decades (1904-1958). The journals include: Science, Nature, Parasitology, Tropical Medicine, Hygiene, Genetics, Zoology, National Academy of Sciences, American Medical Association, etc. Most bear Dr. Cleveland's signature or rubberstamp, and many are stamped "Compliments of the Author," or are inscribed accordingly. Varying wear, most are in very good condition, with the exception of just a few that are wrinkled or have detached covers, chips, etc.Scientists are given "offprints" by the publisher to be gifted or provided upon request, and by definition are rare in the marketplace. This is a wonderful archive rare offprints, from a noted scientist's library, many inscribed.Dr. Lemuel R. Cleveland (1892-1969) was a pioneering American protozoologist and protistologist, famous for giving the first empirical proof for the existence of a symbiotic relationship between internal microorganisms and their metazoan host.
