Description: Hard to find KPM Art Deco cup and saucer dating from 1928 with hand painted picture of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. It is one of 400 pieces produced as marked in German on the reverse of the saucer. This particular set is number 386. It was most likely made to commemorate a special event that took place in Berlin in 1928. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. There used to be an inscription which is barely visible in the white center of the saucer where the cup rests that has faded away. Marked as shown with the KPM scepter mark and the above-mentioned production numbers. There also appears to be a signature at the foot rim edge, maybe the designer. Cup height approx. 4 1/4" to top of handle and 2 7/8" in diameter at the rim, the saucer measures approx. 5 3/8" in diameter.
