Description: Scaphella kieneri. This is a nice example of this species. The condition appears to be okay. However, I would like to point out the obvious, the lip of this specimen. The lip appears to be filed, but I would also like to point out that it has a substantial chip towards the lower end of the specimen. I would approximate that the chip is about 1 1/4", that is an inch and a quarter. It too appears to have been filed for a better appearance. The apex is natural and the specimen appears to be live collected. This is still a nice specimen and it displays well. I have included many images and as well as many angles to highlight it's imperfections. Please refer to the images before buying this specimen. This specimen offered is from an older collection and self purchased. I have included a detailed description for this specimen. Sizes are approximate and not measured through a digital caliper. If possible, collection data or any information on how the specimen was purchased has been included. Scaphella kieneri, about 148mm.Natural growth marks and natural repairs. Lip appears to be filed, substantial chip that appears to be smoothed out. Dredged off the coast of Louisiana. I am not a professional collector or dealer.
