Description: This large and stunning mid-century brooch is from the legendary Sarah Coventry. The organic shape can be described as leaf-like...a fern perhaps, or a feather. It is set with a curving row of 11 grey pearl-like beads. The brooch has a bright, shiny finish and is possibly rhodium plated, which assures that it will never tarnish. Rhodium is an exceptionally hard metal which was used extensively by Sarah Coventry in their jewelry manufacture. The result is a hard, durable, shiny, almost white silver finish. I do not know for certain which of their pieces were plated in this way. The brooch measures approx. 2 1/2" long by 1 1/2" wide. This brooch would look fabulous on a jacket or blazer. For the Sarah Coventry collector, collector of leaf or feather-shaped brooches, or anyone who wants to add sparkle and panache to any outfit.
