Please look carefully at the labeling/functions/design of your item and compare them to the pictures to make sure you are purchasing the correct one. If you have questions - ASK!! Remotes need replacement if they have been lost, chewed by the dog, have a corroded battery compartment, or was not included in the tree you just bought from the thrift store. Though they do sometimes malfunction, if your tree is not responding, or showing odd colors and sections, it is more likely the green receiver is malfunctioning and your remote is fine. Again, ASK if you need advice and assistance ordering the correct item, whether it's a remote or receiver. If you have corresponded with me before purchase about which one to get, and I have agreed or suggested on the correct one, I will allow a return with no problem.
