It has nice large 1/2" holes that don't let dimes or rings fall through, but lets the sand flow through very quickly. It has a nice handle that is easy to grip. This scoop measures 8 3/4" long, 6" wide, and is 5 1/2" tall at the front. I use this scoop myself at the beach and it works great!
