Description: Samuel Alcock Ceylon Japan 7327 Hand Colored Transferware Bread & Butter Plate C.1840s Antique British bone china bread and butter plate. Decorated in the Ceylon Japan print with hand colored highlights in orange, yellow ocher, pink, blue, and green. Gold gilding along the edge. Unmarked except for the pattern number 7327 in red. Produced by Samuel Alcock. Circa 1840s. Has wear consistent with age and use, wear to the gilding, a chip to the foot rim and a larger area of chipping to the foot rim, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 10 inches wide from handle to handle. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece. EW DX
