Dann die ins Ungewisse treibenden Schlagzeugrhythmen. Das sehnsuchtschwangere Flügelhorn, der satte Funkbass. Alles vibriert, atmet in Ekstase, jeder Moment zählt, nichts ist wie gewohnt.the projectThis compilation makes available on CD, sixty-seven minutes of music featuring highlights from two outstanding recordings by Marcio Montarroyos, Magic Moment and Carioca, as well as a track from Jon Hiseman's, A Night in the Sun. With signature upbeat Montarroyos flair, the tracks on Samba Solstice explore, persuade, and captivate, moving with smooth assurance through a gamut of complex compositions ranging from deeply personal jazz musings to ecstatic musical celebrations. Samba Solstice is endowed with a star-studded cast: musicians Ricardo Silveira to Sergio Dias, Jamil Joanes to Victor Biglione, and more create a conspiracy of excellence. Samba Solstice is flawless, from concept to execution, taking delight in the seemingly limitless boundaries of jazz.As a composer, Montarroyos combined classical and jazz influences with Brazilian folk music, and African rhythms to create a masterful synthesis of big band energy and small group intimacy.
