The leaves are aromatic, lanceolate, finely dentate, deep green throughout the season. In late spring, all summer and early autumn it explode with plentiful inflorescences densely packed with 1,5 cm flowers that are intensely blue, fragrant and attracting butterflies. One of the most decorative sages, it is used as an ornamental plant in perennial compositions, in rock and gravel gardens, due to its vertical accent and compact shape, resembling lavender. Because it is highly tolerant to drying out, it is perfect for balcony boxes, pots and terrace gardens. Also suitable for cutting. Very easy to grow, it likes sunny positions and well drained soils.
