Description: Ronce 1850 Bowl Boch Freres 6" Across. This bowl is in the pattern Ronce in pink. Mark on bottom also shows initials BF for Boch Freres, or the Boch brothers, sons of François Boch. Villeroy and Boch is this family as well. The family had a long history of working with potteries across Europe and what was then known as Luxembourg. The pattern shows some mismatching, meaning it could be an early run of this rare design. Rope detail along the edge is mirrored in the maker's mark on the bottom. The design is one of leaves, flowers, and small branches. It reminds me of spring or fall, the times of year when plants awaken and go back to sleep. Year of manufacture is around 1850 so it does show its age. Crack along foot can be seen in photos and doesn't appear to be major. Bowl has areas of discoloration both inside and out. But, miraculously there are no chips on top edge or on the foot! Not bad for 173 years old! Objects in background sold in other listings. If you have any questions please ask. WAS $125 now $100
