Description: St. Joseph The Worker Olive Wood Cross & Cotton 55” Waist Cord This handmade St. Joseph Waist cord was specially made for daily devotion to Saint Joseph, foster father of Jesus. The use of his white braided cord in combination with prayer has long been used for obtaining graces through Saint Joseph. These graces include his special protection, purity of soul, chastity, final perseverance, and his assistance at the hour of our death. The maximum adjustable cord length is approximately 57” and smallest length is approximately 34” including the Cross. Cord thickness is 5.5mm. The white color of the cord represents purity of soul, and the clasp is an Italian olive wood Cross that symbolizes St. Joseph as a carpenter, each Cross has unique wood grain variances. The white cotton waist cord has a total of seven knots, two adjustable sizing slip knots and five rear fixed position knots; these seven knots represent the seven sorrows and seven joys of St. Joseph. Attached to the cord is a St. Joseph the worker silhouette medal. USPS insured shipping. Statue not included. Waist cord comes unblessed. Setting up your St. Joseph Waist Cord The waist cord is designed to wrap around your waist and connect to the Cross. All fine adjustments are made by increasing or decreasing the size of the two loops by pulling the cord through the slipknot. This adjustment will need to be made on both slipknots. Do not untie the slipknots. Having a good look at the listing photos should help with sizing your waist cord. Photo #2 is a good example of how the waist cord should fit after the adjustments are made. Notice on photo #2 that the two slipknots cannot be seen, as the loop size has been increased and the knots are now located on the rear side. Photos #4 and 5 show the increase and decrease of the loop size to achieve the best fit for you. After the waist cord is sized, the cord loops should be adjusted so the loops lay flat, this adjustment can be done by twisting the cord that moves through the slipknot at both ends of the knot.
