The image, painted by the copyist A. Galavtin, copies the original drawing made for “Windows of ROSTA” by artist M. Cheremnykh in 1921. In excellent, brand-new condition. The clear lacquer coating the image is completely intact. The hanging rope is safely affixed to the back with epoxy resin. The informational text is protected by a layer of clear lacquer or resin. “Satire Windows of ROSTA”, or “Windows of ROSTA” as the name was quickly shortened, was a series of Soviet propaganda and agitation posters created in 1919-1921 by Soviet poets and artists working for the Russian Telegraph Avency (ROSTA). With time, the contents of many of these posters were transferred to other media including household items such as mugs, cups, serving dishes and plates.
