Description: This was created in the Vladimir Region of Russia in the village of Palekh. This unsigned piece dates from some point before 1990, based on the darkening of the paint, my guess is that it is from before World War Two. The lid has classical end grain defects in the wood that the artist hid with paint. It is finely detailed hand painted art from another time. I have not attempted to clean or restore this as its patina is part of its beauty.
