Runaway Train - Original Film Soundtrack (Trevor Jones) Rare Import Milan label

Description: NRMT item. Very rare, sought-after 1st edition limited Swiss import release cd Trevor Jones RUNAWAY TRAIN original motion picture soundtrack. Released under the prestigious Milan label, this CD (released in 1986 during the film's run), was said to be limited to run of 500 copies partly because cheap Cannon Films didn't want (or couldn't afford to) pay for a full release, making this 1st edition release much sought-after. Also because this very small original release was the ONLY source of perhaps Trevor Jones best film score of his legendary career. Finally because of many fans clamoring for a released of this score for many years because of the very few copies (this being one of them!), La-la Land Records released in 2009 a good version (3000 copies) that has enabled more collectors to appreciate this wonderful score. I have both versions and while this newer one is good, it's NOT nearly as impactful or unique as the original 1st Edition much rarer 1986 release listed here. RUNAWAY TRAIN is an acclaimed 1985 dramatic thriller, starring Jon Voight, Eric Roberts and Rebecca De Mornay and directed by Andrei Konchalovsky and based on a screenplay by Akira Kurosawa.Widely regarded as Trevor Jones very best score of his legendary film composing career. hits a home run with this impressive score.
