RPPC postcard TRAIN ACCIDENT Wreck of No. 1 ROCKY POINT Kelso Washington? 1910s

Description: Vintage real-photo postcard: TRAIN ACCIDENT - WRECK OF NO. 1, ROCKY POINT, Feb 13 (circa 1910's); message on the back says "Do you remember this day, and do yo know anyone there?". Possibly in Kelso Washington, where, when the Northern Pacific (N. P.) completed its road through Kelso in 1871, they had to blast a ledge to get the tracks around the point. This dangerous curve was considered the worst section on the entire line between Portland and Tacoma. On August 17, 1906, the Oregon & Washington Railroad (O & W) announced plans to build a line between Portland and Seattle. This proposal started a bitter fight between the two railroads over the right-of-way around Rocky Point. Condition: VG- (small edge wrinkle, some minor soil). (Vintage Photograph, Paper, Ephemera, RPPC, Travel, History, Transportation, Train, Railroad, Wreck, Accident, Crash, West, WA, Pacific NW, 1900's, Collectable, Memorabilia) PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: All items are very well-packed for shipment and always include tracking numbers.
