Description: Real photograph postcard view of a Dutch Colonial style brick house in Jersey City, New Jersey, circa 1900s to 1910s. The view, entitled simply Old Tice Tavern, shows a dilapidated brick house set behind an iron fence close by the side of a suburban street. Another building can be seen behind it to the left through the trees. After serving many years as a tavern and restaurant, the building was used as a dwelling and fell into disrepair. It was demolished in 1918. The New Jersey City University has a well researched history of the building on the internet. The postcard is in good or better condition with only light wear and soiling. The photograph exhibits good tonal range and shows good or better detail! A nice little piece of northern New Jersey and Jersey City NJ history!
