Celtic Designs, Galway, Ireland About the Tea Cup & Saucer SetsOn offer are two beautiful, gold rimmed, Royal Tara bone china tea cup and saucer sets. The pattern of one set is called the "Book of Kells," c.1977-2012, while the pattern of the other set is called Tara Brooch c.1984-2004. Each set includes a teacup and saucer. The two sets are being sold individually, but if desirable can be purchased & shipped together. The Book of Kells set is has a multi-color celtic style bird motif in the center of the outside on the cup. Above this motif, and circling the entire outer edge of the cup is a repeating pattern of smaller motifs, one of which has a fish-like design. The Tara Brooch set is decorated with a gold celtic motifs of a circular shield, large scepter and a chain that comes off of the shield. These motifs are repeated on the saucer as well. Each of the two sets has ribbing on the outside of the cup, and on the outer bands of the saucers. Both cups are 'smooth' footed. The cups have gold trim on the their handles and gold rims, one on the top of the cup and one near the bottom. The saucers also have gold rims. The backstamp says: Royal Tara, Fine Bone China, Ireland, Handmade In Galway.
